Why not visit our historic shopping towns, such as Keswick and Egermont, with their markets and boutiques and a wide variety of shops offering everything from traditional made ice cream to climbing and walking clothing.

Or for those with a flavour for the past, visit the Gingerbread shop in Grasmere, built in 1630 as the village school and converted to a shop in 1854, the shop is traditionally adorned and the friendly staff are dressed in traditonal 1800's costume.

With restraunts, cafes and quirky shops tucked away in hidden corners, there is plenty to do and explore.
